"When I’m riding skim, I want zero lag between my feet and the wave face. I run the 53" Carrera because it gives me enough surface area to maintain wave recovery after a huge trick without being too heavy to rotate. The full carbon glassing provides immediate flex - meaning when I spring out of a 540 or a big spin, the board reacts instantly. The hard tuck edge through the tail gives me clean release off the lip while maintaining maximum bite and control on the wave face.

"Surf style behind a boat can easily feel sluggish if the board carries too much belly volume or a flat rocker. On the 4'8" NF1, Austin and I pulled the nose outline in just enough to eliminate pearling when landing late out of the flats. The single-to-double concave down the center line forces water back fast, giving me speed into bottom turns. I run it as a quad fin (two large fins in front, and 2 small nubsters in the rear) because it gives me maximum drive down the line while still letting the tail release cleanly."
