Limited 30-Day Warranty
Every Barrette Surfboard is individually shaped, laminated, and inspected by hand. We stand behind the quality of our materials and workmanship.
Barrette Surfboards provides the original purchaser with a 30-day limited warranty beginning on the original date of purchase.
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that were present at the time the board was manufactured.
If Barrette Surfboards determines that a board has a qualifying manufacturing defect, Barrette Surfboards will, at its discretion, repair the board or replace it with the same or a comparable model.
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from normal use, impact, accidents, abuse, neglect, improper storage, excessive heat, improper repairs, modifications, or failure to follow the care instructions provided with the board.
EPS / Epoxy Construction
All Barrette Surfboards are constructed using EPS foam and epoxy resin.
Because of this construction, Barrette Surfboards must never be repaired using polyester/polyurethane resin ("poly" resin).
Polyester resin is not compatible with EPS foam and can damage or dissolve the foam core. All repairs to a Barrette Surfboard must use an EPS-compatible epoxy resin system.
Any damage resulting from the use of polyester/poly resin, improper repair materials, improper repair techniques, or unauthorized repairs is not covered under warranty.
If you are unsure how to repair your board, contact Barrette Surfboards before attempting a repair.
Heat & Sun Exposure
EPS boards are highly sensitive to excessive heat.
Never leave your Barrette Surfboard in direct sunlight or inside a hot vehicle for extended periods of time.
Excessive heat can cause the air inside the EPS foam core to expand. This can create pressure beneath the laminate and may result in delamination, bubbling, blistering, distortion, or other structural damage.
Heat-related damage is not covered under warranty.
This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Delamination
-
Bubbling or blistering
-
Laminate separation
-
Warping
-
Damage caused by prolonged direct sunlight
-
Damage caused by leaving the board in a hot vehicle
-
Damage caused by prolonged exposure to hot boat decks, docks, trailers, or other heat-absorbing surfaces
Whenever possible, store your board indoors and away from direct sunlight.
A board bag does not eliminate the risk of heat damage. A board inside a bag can still reach temperatures high enough to cause delamination.
Dings & Water Intrusion
Barrette Surfboards are built for performance, but no surfboard is indestructible.
Any crack, puncture, or ding that penetrates the outer laminate should be repaired immediately to prevent water from entering the EPS core.
Do not continue riding a board with significant structural damage or an open ding.
Damage caused by an unrepaired ding, water intrusion, impact, or continued use of a damaged board is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered under this warranty.
Normal Wear & Tear
Normal wear and tear are not covered under warranty.
This includes:
-
Pressure dents
-
Heel dents
-
Minor scratches
-
Cosmetic damage
-
Normal rail wear
-
Fin or fin-box damage caused by impact
-
Traction pad wear
-

Board Care
Your Barrette Surfboard is a high-performance EPS/epoxy surfboard and requires proper care.
Protect your board from:
HEAT. IMPACT. WATER.
Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, never leave it in a hot vehicle, repair damage immediately, and use epoxy resin only for repairs.
Proper care will help protect the performance, strength, and longevity of your Barrette Surfboard.
